What is intraoral photogrammetry (IOP)?

Developed in-house by SHINING 3D, IPG is the first photogrammetry solution natively integrated into an intraoral scanner. It is particularly suitable for complex cases, especially implant placement and full-arch restorations.

Intraoral photogrammetry captures the positions and angles of implants in a single pass, as well as tooth and gingival tissue data.

Result: sub-5 µm accuracy, guaranteed passive fit, and significantly more predictable results.

How does intraoral photogrammetry work?

You attach coded scan bodies directly to the implants.

Each carries a unique geometric pattern that the system identifies and triangulates from multiple high-resolution images, captured simultaneously from different angles.

IPG thus reconstructs the exact spatial positions of each implant and generates a complete 3D model of the dentition.

This model serves as the basis for virtual implant planning and the design of definitive restorations.

IPG is available on Aoralscan Elite and Elite Wireless scanners.

The coded scan body patterns serve as permanent control points throughout the acquisition. Real-time dynamic tracking ensures overall data consistency, regardless of case complexity.
